Ice Retention, Cold Matters

It's All About Ice Retention

In the wild Grizzly Bears eat a massive amount of food all summer long! When winter arrives these massive bears dig a den, and enter a state of hibernation. Bears are supplied with over 4,000 calories a day from burning their fat stores, keeping them warm all winter long. Bears have got it made! They overeat all summer and sleep it off all winter. Those bears, they got no cares!

Ironically, Grizzly Coolers are packed with food all summer long as well! But in our coolers, we’re looking to keep things COLD! And I care about the end result! When it comes to ice retention and coolers, COLD MATTERS!

"I took this to the Black Hills for 5 days and not once had to buy more ice. I threw a 10lb bag of ice in the cooler the night before we left, drained maybe 3 cups of water out of it next morning and added 3 more pounds of ice. Had water, beer, and food packed in this cooler and it was opened a minimum of 10 times a day with 4 adults and 2 kids constantly grabbing stuff out. When we got home the 5th day I drained the water and tipped over the cooler to rid the ice in it. I debated between this cooler and a Yeti. I went with the Grizzly because it is a true 60qt cooler. Love this cooler and glad I went with this over a Yeti. With Yeti you're paying the extra $100 for the name."

"Bought this cooler for a 10 day fishing/camping trip. Cooler works great! Ice lasted 8 days. I pre-chilled the night before. I have several similar coolers from different manufacturers and they all pretty much are about the same. It is costly however, worth the long term investment. I would definitely buy another one. You get what you pay for."

"Amazing quality. This cooler outdid itself. Took this along for a 4 day camping trip and was in and out of it everyday. The ice retention was amazing. Never had to make an ice run and saw virtually no melting. This cooler will go beyond your expectations. I also use this when I go fishing. Hot days out on the water are no match for the Grizzly. You will not be disappointed."

"My wife and I bought this cooler for an extended, remote trip to Utah where the nearest ice resupply would be almost an hour’s drive away. We began our trip on Oct 5th, 2018 with this cooler packed to the gills. It had (1) 10lb block and (1) 10lb bag of cubed ice – the rest was food. We camped for a full 30 days and the cooler was outside but kept in the shade the entire time. The nighttime temperatures were in the mid 30s and daytime temperatures in the low 50s (so fairly cool but occasionally daytime temps rose into the low 60s). The cooler was opened and dug through 5-6 times a day. Now for the results: During that entire 30 days, we drove in for food resupply only twice at 10 day intervals. During those two trips we purchased exactly (1) additional 10lb block and (1) 10lb bag of cubed ice TOTAL. Also, we drained some water out so we could fit in food but left about 50% of it in the cooler. At the end of 30 days there was actually a small chunk of the original 10lb block about the size of a deck of playing cards still remaining and the “new” block was basically at about 90% and there was still much cubed ice as well!!! That is insane that some of the original block of ice survived the entire 30 days!!! This is the most amazing cooler I have ever owned. I will never use another cooler. When you close the lid on this thing you can actually hear the seals sucking down on it just like when you close your freezer at home – WOW!!"

"I'm a heavy equipment repair welder with a Kenworth T300 that the air conditioning has been out of service all summer. This cooler sat in my passenger seat with water, Gatorade and my lunch when it was 108 degrees outside and 128 degrees inside my truck. And it all was cold, and I mean cold like if you leave a water bottle in it for 2 days with ice and the bottle starts to form ice in it. It will keep a 10 lb bag of ice for 4 days if you don't open it and will keep ice for a day and a half opening it 10 times a day. Took it to the Grand Canyon and left it in my car for 5 days. There Was no ice left but the water was still 40 degrees. The tray that comes with it is big enough for dry food good for the day and the drain works great, never leaks. Don’t waste your money on trendy Yeti, get a Grizzly."
